Digital transformation (DX) is a hot topic in most companies today. Although the overall enterprise storage market continues to grow, revenue for storage systems at the mid-range price points ($25,000 to $249,999) is growing at a faster rate: in 2019, this market grew 10.6% to 60.3% of all enterprise storage revenue. Part of the reason this segment outperforms the entry-level and high-end enterprise storage segments is that systems starting in the
$25,000 to $249,999 range are increasingly incorporating performance, availability, scalability, and functionality of higher-level systems. For IT organizations looking to optimize costs as well as storage infrastructure, mid-priced systems meet a broader set of requirements than either of the other two storage classes.
